The amount is higher than the S$1.18 million record set by a 5-room Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) flat in Bishan that changed hands in February last year.

The remaining tenure of the terrace house is not revealed. HDB terrace houses are usually sold at 60 year lease.

A number of such terrace houses at Geylang were repossessed by the government with no compensation to the owners last year after their lease ends last year.

A total of 52 million-dollar HDB units were sold in the first three quarters of this year, 40 of which are less than 20 years old.

  1. Really stupid to buy a depreciating asset at such high price . It will become zero after 95 years!
